Chocolate Bunny

I had so much fun making this card with the adorable bunny from the Create a Critter cart. I also used some papers from the Alphabet Soup collection from My Mind's Eye, so cute!

I made the chocolate bunny and then used pinking scissors to "snap" the little ear. I thought that was appropriate since that's the best place to start on any chocolate bunny :) I used the Forever Young cart to make the sunglasses and then added some rhinestone bling.

I used a couple of embossing folders to add some flourishes to the carrot and some texture to the carrot top and flower. Then I added just a little more bling to the flower :)

On the inside of the card I added this little sentiment perfect for any Easter/Spring birthday.

Challenges:
Papercraft Star - card with this recipe: 5x7, 3x4.5" mat, must have flourish and rhinestones
Crafty Creations - bunnies
Cooking with Cricut - pun or funny saying
Birthday Sundaes - Spring birthday
Fantabulous Cricut - Spring
Die Cuttin' Divas - Easter
More than Favors - funny saying
Two Scraptastic Gals - use Forever Young cart
So Saturday Challenge #6 - use patterned ribbon

Hope you're enjoying spring wherever you are :)

Tickled Pink LO

I love this Close to my Heart paper from their Sweetheart collection and it really inspired this layout, along with the beautiful flowers my hubby got me for Valentine's day :)

I used Tattered Angels glimmer mist after buying a great little starter set at Hobby Lobby. So fun! If I had known how much it would add to everything I sprayed it with, I would've bought it sooner! I also used some star dust stickles for added shimmer. Close to my Heart also has these great epoxy stickers that really added some dimension under the butterfly too.

I got some fun Prima flowers when Paper Panther and I went to the scrapbook expo this weekend, so I sprayed those with glimmer mist too, and then added a jewel brad and some fiber.

It's hard to see in the picture, but I stamped "Tickled" in pink first for a shadow and then in black to make it really stand out. Then I used these versatile alphabet brads on some tags that I made, added an eyelet to match and then popped those up with some dimensionals.

Challenges:
The Paper Variety - 1,2,3 challenge - 1 flower, 2 photos, 3 different trims
Scrapbookaholic by Abby Challenge #2 - anything Spring
Creative Cutter Room - looks like Spring
GAB Challenge Blog - use a favorite technique - stickles! Although, I'm really liking glimmer mist too :)
My Craft Spot- Tie a bow

Have an awesome day!

Howdy Neighbor

Ye-haw!
Celebrate the Occasion Challenge blog March 28th. New Home. I wanted to do something different for my card. I thought about doing a cow and a we've 'MOO'ved card to give to old neighbors, but I decided not to, even though I have been dying to use the cow on create a critter cricut cart.

Instead, I used a horse and the the pun 'Neigh' bors, becuase a horse says neigh. Get it? *giggle*
There are still neighbors I have never met and this card would have solved that problem. I am a bit of a recluse :) You never know, if you live in Utah I might be your neighbor!
THe Howdy was cut from Create a Critter too, and the tag was cut with Once Upon A Princess Cart (beautiful tags o there) And then embossed with my sizzix texture boutique purse and the damask card.
I hand wrote the tag that I cut from Once upon a Princess cart. to match and trimmed it to fit, but I wish I would have found a small stamp to stamp it instead . So, unless you have better handwriting than I do- and chances are you do, but if not, stamp it :)

Go enter your New House craft now. The month is almost over and a great cricut cartridge is up for grabs! The thing I love about this challenge blog is any type of project is accepted and any type of technique- meaning, if you don't want to use your cricut (or don't have one) you can still enter. Go see what the amazing Design Team has put together for you- they seriously blow my mind away every week.

Challenges:
GAB Challenges - favorite technique, dry embossing
More Than Favors - something funny
Cooking with Cricut - funny quote, saying, or pun
*hugs* Ya'll Come Back Now, Ye Hear?

My Mind's Eye eye candy

Saturday, I went to the Scrapbook Expo, in Sandy, Utah- with Rayna. There were a lot of great deals there. It still isn't as good as it used to be. Ten years ago they had a ton
of free make and takes, etc. But my favorite thing at the expo is always My
Mind's Eye
(and the cute guys that sell it) Seriously, if they had a poster of all of the
cute guys in their cute brown My Mind's Eye shirts, I would possibly buy it
:) Some have been around a while, and if you know them by name- they will
work out a deal with you. My Mind's Eye products ROCK!! Here is a short
video of KC, who is super cute and a lot of laughs. *Don't worry, my hubby
knows all about my scrapbooking crushes. :)

(the video is old, but it is all
I could find- I didn't bring my camera to the show :(
seriously, cracks me up :) And guys talking about glitter without laughing
is just cool. Go check out the My Mind's Eye Blog,
who would totally get more views if they had KC, Nick or Jason, did I miss
anyone?? Did I tell you their product is awesome to decorate with because it
is so sturdy?
I have to add Tim Holtz to the scrapbook crush list. (Confession, when Rayna said at the show 'There is Tim Holtz!' I about passed out, but she meant Tim Holtz's embossing folders. LOL
Who is on your Scrapbook crush list ?

Happy Birthday Flowers

I'm still feeling like spring should be here right about now... so with that inspiration, this birthday card came together pretty easily because of some fun Making Memories paper and some different challenges. For the watering can, I used the Walk in my Garden cartridge and for the flowers and leaves, the Doodlecharms cartridge. Some little heart punches framed the sentiment nicely too.

I used a couple of different embossing folders for the centers of the flowers and the brown Bazzill cardstock.
The Coredinations gemstones paper gave the watering can that fun shimmery look.

Now for the challenges:

Mojo Monday - use their great sketch
Birthday Sundaes - anything birthday
Fantabulous Cricut - birthday
More Than Favors - use Doodlecharms
Linda's Creativity - use a punch
Die Cuttin' Divas - use a garden Cricut cut
Simon Says Stamp - girlie or Mother's Day

Hope you're all having a fantastic day!

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #6

This week at Celebrate the Occasion, the challenge is to make a thank you with a tag somewhere on the project. I saw this arched gate leading to a beautiful garden in a local park and I thought, that would make a fun card shape! Yes, I know, I get inspiration from the most random places! :) So that's how the "gate" leads to the pretty flowers on my card. I used stamp pads and a water pen to color in the leaves and flower pot. I'd like to experiment more with this type of shading and coloring, so I thought I'd start small. :)

I used Liquid Glass from Close to My Heart to make the flowers pop just a little bit, and it really intensified the color too.

Challenges:
Playdate Cafe - use pink, purple and yellow

Make sure you join us this week at Celebrate the Occasion for this fun challenge! All you need to do is create a card, layout or project and post it by Sunday, March 27th, 11:59pm (EST). The winner will be selected and entered into their monthly drawing. March's prize will be the "ROCK PRINCESS" cricut cartridge!

Hope everyone is having an awesome day!

One of my favorite traditions is celebrating the 4th of July with family and friends. We all get together and spend the evening talking and catching up. We end the night listening to some great patriotic songs & watching the amazing fireworks show that the city provides. For my project, I made a layout that celebrates this fun holiday!

I used the Sew Easy stitch piercer and some blue floss to sew around the star. Then I used some ribbon and different fibers to make a firework. It was a fun layout to make!

Fast Baby Card using My Minds Eye

Hi Peeps! For this weeks Design Team Challenge at Celebrate the Occasion it is a new arrival. I chose to do a sweet and simple baby card for my friends baby boy. Don't you love little sweet baby toes and hands? I have had 4 kids, one boy and three girls and I still can't get enough of newborn babies. Does anyone have one I can hold????

Go and enter your new arrival (pets count too) project to Celebrate the Occasion Challenge blog and you could be entered to win the monthly giveaway. Remember, you do not have to use the cricut for this challenge blog- so if you are on a Provo Craft strike because of the Make the Cut fiasco- this challenge is for you :)

Here is the link to the video of the card I made, which my ten year old helped me film. Um.... I will be practicing with her first next time, LOL!!

Until then stay tuned for more projects from Rayna and myself. Happy crafting!
(PS I want you to note that I only have ONE photo up here instead of a thousand like I normally do. I am having withdrawals- this may not last. )

Spring Card

Hi Peeps! Here is a spring card I made for card club (10 of them) I started with bazzil 12x12 paper, cut them in a scalloped circle. I used Bobunny's new paper and Once upon a Princess cartridge to cut the tags out. I used the skull scroll embossing folder to emboss the back tag. I used a script stamp to stamp the bazzil.
A dragonfly stamp was put on the front tag using vintage photo distress ink and then stickled with stickles. Tea dye crackle paint was placed around the card and then Pine Needles distress ink was rubbed over it when it crackled.
The flowers were added and I used Liquid Glass on the dragon fly and over parts of the crackle paint.

I can't wait for Spring!
This has been entered in My Pink Stampers Blog Hop and Pals Paper Arts and Crafty Ann's challenge blog

Spring Break

Feeling like I'm in serious need of a spring break, I found a bunch of challenges this week that inspired this card. Most of the paper I used was from Close to My Heart, they have great paper packs. Then I used the Life is a Beach cartridge for the palm tree and the flower charm.

The flower in the charm kind of reminded me of a clock, so that's where the sentiment came from. :) I used Perfect Pearl pigment powder from Ranger to give the flower some shimmer - I haven't had a chance to use it very often, but it added a really nice effect. I also used a brad and blue fibers as accents.

I entered a bunch of challenges with this card:

Cricut Cardz Challenge - 9x4 card, any theme, any colors
Papercraft Star - Spring inspiration and one of their colors
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Cooking with Cricut - time to spring forward, use a timepiece, clock, or some reference to time
Fantabulous Cricut - use a tree
The Play Date Cafe - use these colors
Two Scraptastic Gals - Life's a Beach cart

Hope you're all having a great week!

Baby Page

Time to record the birth of my niece... now that she's 2 yrs old! Well, better late than never, I guess :) I loved this cute little sheep on the Create a Critter cart and thought she was perfect for a baby girl. I used colored, embossed vellum for the bottom border and a paper flower for some additional accents.

Of course, I had to use some Stickles to add a little shimmer to the hair bows :)

I am entering this into Die Cuttin Divas 'Baby Love' challenge and More Than Favors 'Stretch Your Imagination' challenge. I didn't have that cartridge, so here's the next best thing :) Hope you're all having an awesome day!

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #4

This week at Celebrate the Occasion, the challenge of the week is to make a ST. PATRICK'S DAY project. I cut the four-leaf clover using the Stamping cartridge, but there is no shadow feature available since it's a solutions cartridge. I liked the way the blue made the green shamrock stand out so I cut it just a little bit bigger on the blue and used it as the shadow.

For the paper on the top of the card, I couldn't find one that I liked to match the bottom pattern so I kind of made my own. I used white paper, crumpled it up, then inked it with blue, green, and a little gray to make a shade to match the rest of the card and to give it some texture.

Make sure you join us this week at Celebrate the Occasion for this fun challenge! All you need to do is create a card, layout or project and post it by Sunday, March 13th, 11:59pm (EST).

Have a great day!

Flower Pot Card

For this card, I used the new Vicki B. line from Bo Bunny. I love the whole collection, it's just beautiful! I cut out the card using the flower pot in the Walk in My Garden cartridge and dragonfly in the Stamping cartridge. It was a great coincidence that the swirls in the dragonfly matched the paper! Then I stamped the sentiment using an old Close to My Heart set I found.

Then I used some yarn, some little bling dots, Stickles for the antennas, and a flower brad to accessorize just a bit :)

I'm entering a few challenges with this card:
Fantabulous Cricut - shaped card
Simon Says Stamp - 1 image, 2 patterned papers, 3 embellishments
Birthday Sundaes - birthday card, they're also holding a DT Call, so go check them out!

Birthday Sundaes

Have a great day!
