CTO Design card blue and white

Paper Panther here and I am thrilled to be on the Design Team for Celebrate the Occasion for another term. The challenges this term are even better than before if that is possible and I hope you join Rayna and I in playing with them There are also returning design team members and some very talented new design team members worth checking out. Here is my project this week: The challenge is White and Blue

I used white cardstock for the base of the card and ran it through my sizzix texture boutique purse embosser using the Sizzix Tim Holtz Retro embossing folder.
Instead of making this card grungy, I wanted more of a sweet and shabby look. I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Tumbled Glass to color the white blue and I tore white card stock into 3 circles and then tore little triangles in the the sides, inked and layered it making a flower. I used a blue jewel in the center I then balanced the flower out with two beaded flower brads from K&Company. I used glittered swirls in between the flowers. I left this card blank so I can use it for just about any occasion.

Tinkerbell Bow Holder Board

Welcome to Thankful Thursday! For the project this week, we were challenged to make something with a favorite family movie theme. My girls love the Tinkerbell movies and my youngest daughter even has her room decorated with Tink everywhere, so I made her a bow holder board using some fun fabric and accents! I started out with:

* 16x20 canvas
* Fabric to cover the canvas
* Ribbon
* Trim for the top and bottom
* Coordinating buttons
* Staple gun

I cut the fabric so there was about 2-3 inches left on each side of the canvas and then I pulled it in back and folded it like I would wrap a present. Then I took the staple gun and stapled the corners, went along the sides pulling the fabric tight and stapled the sides too.

I then took ribbon and cut 4 of them at about 20" long and burned the ends so they wouldn't fray. Then I stapled those on at about 4" apart. I really LOVED the staple gun for this project! :)

I took my trim, cut one for the top and bottom and burned the edges. Then I stapled those around the back too and once in the center.

I glued some cute butterfly buttons on the corners and the centers to cover the staples and then stapled a piece of ribbon to the back for the hanger.

My little girl loves her new Tink board and her flowers and bows fit great!

Hope you're all having a fun summer and we have an awesome prize, the Post-it prize pack!! So don't forget to head over to Crazy About Cricut, and enter your family project! Have a wonderful day!

Design Team Call & Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #22

Welcome to another Celebrate the Occasion challenge! This time, we're doing Christmas in July but it must be a shape card! But also this month, Celebrate the Occasion is doing a Design Team call, so if you want to have a great time making projects for their awesome challenges, head on over to their site and see what you need to do to be a part of this great and talented group of ladies! It's been so much fun to be on their Design Team!

For my card this month, I used the Joys of the Season cart and welded the two ornaments together with my Cricut Design Studio. I used some grungeboard letters and inked them up and the added some stickles for some sparkle. Then I found these cute flowers that looked so Christmas-y to me so I added those too :) Topped it off with some ribbon, and we have Christmas in July!

Make sure you come and join us this week at Celebrate the Occasion for this fun challenge and to check out all the fabulous work from the rest of the awesome Design Team!! All you need to do is create a card, layout or project and post it by Sunday, July 17th, 11:59pm (EST). The winner will be selected and entered into the monthly drawing for a "Block Party" cricut cartridge, sponsored by design team member Kristen!!

Red, White and Blue Wreath

Welcome to Thankful Thursday! The challenge this week is to make a project using Red, White, and Blue! I can never have enough decorations for 4th of July, so I got my kids to help me pick out some nice fabric for this wreath. To begin, I cut about a yard of the fabric into 1"x15" strips, bought a 14" foam wreath, and this cute little freedom sign. We began to tie the strips so they overlap and none of the wreath showed underneath. The kids started out strong, but they got kind of got tired of that part, so I just finished tying it myself :)

I tied the sign in one of the loops and then made a hanger out of one of the longer pieces of fabric and tied it around to finish off the wreath.

Hope you're all having a wonderful summer and as always, we have an awesome prize, the Post-it prize pack!! So don't forget to head over to Crazy About Cricut, and enter your family project!

Christmas in July

Yes, I know America just partied like it was 1776 and that fireworks and snowflakes don't really go together... but it is Christmas in July all ready, and over at Celebrate the Occasion we are pulling out the Christmas glitter here (minus the red) I chose to make a Christmas Tag. The rules were no RED. This was tough. I pulled out my Christmas stash of scrapbook supplies and found that pretty much every little embellishment or paper I had had red. Hmmmm. So I improvised. I used glitter paper and stickers, stamps, pearls, rub ons, lace, a prima bauble, a flower I made from an old book that fell apart when I was reading it, and a clock I cut from bobunny paper. Here is my lack of red end result. It was a challenge this time for me, but I love a good challenge and thanks to the creative celebrate the occasion team- you can see what the rest of the design team came up with.

I hope you all go and enter the Christmas in July challenge with NO RED- it was a blast and I can't wait to see what our creative followers come up with :)
